“A mind reset equals a life reset…”

Updated: Mar 30, 2023

Have you ever pondered a life reset, because I sure have! The older I get, the more I find myself thankful for the ability to use each day as a reset. I have been on a health and weightloss journey over the last year. If I ever found myself backsliding or not being committed to the journey, I always told myself that I can and will do better tomorrow. My last year has given me many opportunities for personal growth. One thing that always had to be right with me each morning for me to reset was my mindset. We sometimes take for granted the importance of our mindset and how much of an impact it can have on us and those around us.

Our mindset can propel us forward in our journey to better our own habits, dreams, goals and happiness. When I would wake up each morning before my feet hit the floor, I would express gratitude to God for waking me up, for the health of my family and for another day to go to work and make a positive difference in someone’s day. I was absolutely blown away at how that simple act affected my mindset and my day each time I did it. I found my day filled with my students seeking me out to just say good morning to me or come see me to give me a hug, positive and little moments like that. I will forever believe that showing gratitude and adjusting my mindset allowed God to open my eyes to what I needed to be thankful for, and for putting more people in my path to show kindness to.

Here are a few steps that you may utilize to reset your life, I found them very helpful and I hope you do too!

Step 1

Evaluate your life - Write down what you love about your life and write down what isn't working. If it's not bringing you joy, it's a NO and doesn’t deserve space in your life.

Step 2

Plan your journey - Write down your start date, and then write down three things that you want to implement into your life. Is it a health journey? Maybe you want to hit 10,000 steps a day and increase water intake. A new gratitude routine, or maybe you want to try a new hobby. Make a plan for how and when you are going to achieve these things, and remember baby steps are still steps in the right direction! Get you a notebook or calendar and write it all down, and do something each day that can get you headed in the right direction. Set a destination date and celebrate your wins along the way. Want to reach out to me? We can be each other's accountability partner and built-in cheerleaders!

Step 3

Consistency is key -  Whatever you are working on or resetting, you must try your best to do it everyday. This  will help create a habit and make it your new normal. The other key is to keep it simple, it will help you to not get too overwhelmed.

Now, go reset and be great! I KNOW YOU CAN!!
